To those who serve life even after death – a farewell ceremony for body donors
On Monday, May 19, 2025, the deceased who donated their bodies to students of the School of Medicine University of Zagreb were sent to their final resting place.
This ceremony was attended by relatives and friends of the deceased, as well as professors and students of the School of Medicine, who expressed their gratitude with honorary speeches in the Great Hall of the Zagreb Crematorium.
The post-mortem donation program was launched at the School of Medicine University of Zagreb twelve years ago. Donation itself represents an exceptionally noble act and provides an opportunity for future doctors to properly master the secrets of the structure of the human body. This knowledge is the basis for better and more successful learning of material from other academic subjects, not only during, but also after studies.
