You are cordially invited to a lecture titled „The Evolution of Allogeneic Stem Transplantation in Cancer Immunotherapy“,  held by dr. Leo Luznik, Johns Hopkins University and Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland, SAD

Lecture will take place on Thursday, 23rd February at 11:00 AM, u lecture hall Botteri, KBC Zagreb, Kišpatićeva 12

Dr. Leo Luznik is tenured professor of Oncology and Immunology and attending physician at Johns Hopkins University and Hospital. He is internationally recognized physician-scientist who has made original contributions to transplant immunobiology that led to establishing post-transplant cyclophosphamide (PTCy) as a novel and widely recognized approach to GVHD prevention. His body of work ranges from the initial identification and characterization of PTCy in GVHD prevention to deciphering the basic mechanisms that regulate the efficacy of this strategy to eventual clinical translation of these findings. Currently >30% of patients undergoing HLA matched and >95% of patients receiving haploidentical transplants in the USA are transplanted using this approach. This strategy had provided increased access to the transplantation worldwide, especially in developing countries, and had been called “a revolution in the field of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Dr. Luznik received his MD from the University of Zagreb in 1990 and completed clinical and research training in Internal Medicine, Oncology and Hematology at the UCSD, University of Arizona, and Johns Hopkins University.
