University of Zagreb School of Medicine announces call for applications for MD Program in English for the academic year 2013/2014!

Study Medicine in English in Croatia, Europe!

In the academic year 2003, University of Zagreb School of Medicine
introduced a new 12 semester (6-year) Medical Studies in English (MSE) Program. Graduates of the program are granted a diploma conferring the professional title of Doctor of Medicine (MD).

This program is entirely instructed in English language, and is also designed so as
to meet both American (USMLE) and European Union standards.
Beginning in 2005/2006, the Government of Canada has recognized University of Zagreb School of Medicine and Canadian citizens are eligible to apply for government (OSAP) student funding.

The University of Zagreb, founded in 1669, is the oldest and most
distinguished institution of higher learning in South-East Europe. Its
School of Medicine, founded in 1917, has a long tradition of educating
foreign students. So far over 700 foreign citizens have earned their
medical degree in Zagreb. Graduates of the University of Zagreb School of Medicine have established private practices or found teaching positions in medical schools all over the world, including the U.S. and Canada. Currently, University of Zagreb School of Medicine has students enrolled from the U.S., Canada, U.K., Israel, Europe, Australia and Asia.

It should be pointed out that a medical profession (especially an MD degree) is in the vast majority of the countries a strictly regulated profession. Therefore, prospective students are strongly advised to make themselves familiar with laws, by-laws, ordinances and any other legal acts of their native country and their compatibility with the MSE programme.

The number of places available for Medical Studies in English Program is 50.

Academic year starts in October and the admission is possible only into the winter semester.

The tuition fee for each academic year is 7.000 Euro (approx. 8.000 USD) if
paid at once or 7.200 Euro (payable in two instalments) prior to the
beginning of each semester.

Application fee is 100€.

Deadline for applications for academic year 2013/2014 is June 20, 2013.

Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.

Developing Leaders in Global Health Systems: A Partnership Program between UGA and U-Haifa

The Program offers 12 graduate credit hours. Students have the option of selecting 4 of 5 courses, including a 300-contact hour internship. The internship component may be used to fulfill the UGA MPH required 6-credit internship. Each of the classes offered will also satisfy the requirements of the UGA Graduate Certificate in Global Health.

-Students will learn with University of Haifa students as well as students from other nations in class, creating a valuable learning experience with an international perspective.
-Internship sites (locations TBD) will offer students the chance to work in their field of study, while creating connections with Haifa students, Haifa faculty, and Israeli health professionals.

FALL ENTRANCE EXAM

According to the Call for applications issued on May 14, 2012 in Jutarnji list we would like to inform all the interested candidates that the fall entrance exam for Medical Studies in English programme will take place in Zagreb (Croatia), Tel Aviv (Israel) and Stockholm (Sweden) on September 04, 2012.
There are 5 available places. If the applicants who passed the entrance exam in summer term and gained the right to enroll give up their spot, other candidates who passed the entrance exam will be considered to fill their spot.

Enrolment is an important event which confirms your status as a registered student of

In the academic year 2003 University of Zagreb Medical School (UZMS)
introduced a new 12 semester (6-year) Medical Doctor Study
program in English. Graduates of the program are granted a diploma

internationally accredited exams. UZMS also has working relationships
with a number of university medical schools in Europe and North
America, including University of Toronto, McGill, and the Mayo Clinic.

medical degree in Zagreb. Graduates of UZMS have established private

Introductory speech was given by professor Davor Jezek, Medical Studies in English program coordinator and Vice-Dean for International Relations. Admission requirements and how to enrol

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

 

The admission procedure comprises:

 

1)    Evaluation of the secondary school grades (overall average over the continuum of all 4 years of the secondary school education comprising all the grades and the final exam, together with the specific evaluation of grades in Biology, Chemistry and Physics).

 

2)    Written exam in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Date: to be determined (beginning of July for the exam in Zagreb).

3)    Candidates who have completed a pre-medical college and passed internationally recognized exams (MCAT - with minimal score 9 for each section), or earned a BA/Bsc degree in natural sciences with good credits in Biology, Physics, Chemistry may be exempted from the entrance examination.

 

4)    Applicants who have taken SAT II Subject Tests in Biology, Physics and Chemistry, with the minimal score 600 in each subject, may also be exempted from the written exam.

 

5)    Candidates who are neither native speakers of English, nor have graduated from an English-speaking secondary school or college are required to take an internationally recognized English language proficiency test (TOEFL, IELTS…).

 

     

 

Academic year starts at the beginning of October and lasts until the end of July.

 

 

Tuition fee is 7,000 Euro per year if paid at once, or 7,200 Euro if paid in two installments, prior to the beginning of each semester.

 

 

 


How to enrol

New students:

As a commencing or new student, you will need to check the enrolment instructions included in your Medical Studies in English leaflet. Note that to be fully enrolled, you will need to have

1. a completed application form (application form)
2. certified copies of your secondary school certificates (of all four years of secondary school and the final certificate of education  GCSE) with official transcript of grades
3. certificate of higher courses or degrees, if any
4. officially attested English translation of your secondary school/graduation certificates if these were not originally issued in English
5. curriculum vitae in English
6. 2 passport-size photos (not older than six months)
7. payment slip of application and tuition fee
8. medical certificate of general health status
9. photocopy of your valid passport (only relevant pages with your data and picture) and birth certificate
10. notarized financial statement that the applicant or his/her sponsor has adequate financial resources to finance his/her study
11. and completed any other enrolment procedures available in the Students office
